Directions
Initial Treatment
As water quality varies from place to place we recommend an initial three-day protocol to remove contaminants from your water before using your spa:
On Day 1 Drain, clean and refill spa pool. Add 1L Silver Cove to your spa, followed by 500 ml on Day 2 and 500 ml again on Day 3 while running the pool for a minimum of 6 hours per day) and cleaning the filters each day. The spa pool water should be clear and odourless. (In rare cases, it may be necessary to add further 100 ml increments).
The filter needs to be hosed off and left to soak in filter sanitiser /degreaser overnight on each of the 3 days.(Poolwise makes a natural, plant-based filter degreaser).
Drying off in the sun is also very beneficial.
Once a week thereafter, add 1⁄2 litre (500 ml) per 1000 litres of pool water to be sanitized.
At any sign of decreased water clarity/quality, when spa is under heavy usage, has long exposure to direct sunlight or is contaminated with suntan lotions, sunscreens, etc, a shock treatment should quickly rebalance your spa water. There are a number of oxygen-based shocks on the market.
Helpful Tips
Ongoing Maintenance
- Weekly, add 500ml (half a litre) of Silver Cove per 1,000 litres of water.
- If water clarity decreases, or the spa is heavily used, exposed to sunlight, or contaminated
(lotions, sunscreens), increase the weekly dosage by 100ml until clarity is restored.

Running the filter pump for about 20 minutes after adding Silver Cove is advised.
Product Dosage & Frequency
Start with 1L of Silver Cove per 1,000 litres of water. Weekly, add 500ml per 1,000 litres.
Water Replacement
Periodically drain and clean your spa, then refill and restart the protocol for consistent water quality. Change your spa water every 8 to 12 weeks depending on usage.
